As part of the workshop, writers were asked to write 10 word plays. Here’s a selection that were then filmed, edited and shown during the evening’s performance.

Roy sits at the table with his legs crossed, slumped backwards looking Daisy up and down with a wry smile on his face. Daisy looks uneasy as his eye feed off the beauty of her body.

ROY:      Well?
DAISY:   No.
ROY:      Please.

Daisy walks over to Roy and slaps him around the face. Roy smiles and laughs before crying loudly.

DAISY:   Sicho.
ROY:      Don’t leave me.
DAISY:   Bye
ROY:      Slut. (shouts) SLUT!

Daisy kisses Roy then exits.

Character A is running from SL to SR and touching the ground at each end.
Character B is sitting trying to read. He/she’s frustrated by the noise.

After some time…

B:            Stop!
A:            2008. Beijing. Gold.
B:            (slaps forehead)

Character A goes back to running. B tried to read. B gets up and stops A.

B:            (indicating book) Please…
A:            (sighs)

B goes back to reading. A lies down on back and does leg exercises.

A:            Gold! (madly straining under the effort)
B:            (sighs)
A:            (to give them strength to keep going…) Gold!
B:            (exasperated) …Dickens!

B gets up. Looks at A. He/she is leaving. Cannot stand it.

B:            Good luck.
(exits)
